OK this is a really good book, but not a perfect book. It has two serious problems. First, you can see the title so you think that is what the book covers, but actually only the second 2/3 cover this. The first 1/3 is how to buy, build, pick a 3d printer which is fine, but not why you bought this book. And here is the second problem. The font is tiny, the smallest I’ve EVER seen in a book. I have good eyes but otherwise this will be a problem. So here is the thing, if they eliminated the first 1/3rd of this book, which has NOTHING on maintaining and troubleshooting and made the rest of the font bigger to fill these first pages, the book would be SO much better. SO much better.Other than that, the book is good and contains many good tips. But printing a book with 8 or 9 point font really should not be allowed. So to the publisher, shame on you. To the editor, do your job. Do you really think a chapter on assembling a 3d printer should be in a book about maintaining and troubleshooting one? It’s like paying good money to buy the repair manual for your car, only to find out half of the book is a shopping guide on how to pick out a car.Really the problem here is the tiny font, if you want to include unneeded sections fine, but don't make us suffer from tiny font because of it.Addition: Got my caliper out to measure the font. Being very generous from the highest point to lowest point, I get 0.125 inches, Usung a font calculator this is 9.2 font. Ridiculous for a text book.
CONS: a little boring... lacks of a clear order... there are phrases you will find and read again and again... should be other way to summarize and help reader to focus on relevant issues.PROS: the content is helpful and shows the writer has a lot of experience with 3D printers.But ok, sometimes being good at something does not mean you know how to teach that something. You will probably find the way to tackle a problem with your printer in this book, so I recommend the book to solve problems and get some enhancements too.
Well so far it looks good. It includes many details I was wondering about. Since I am a retired electronic/mechanical field service engineer I am mainly picking up the new terms used in 3D printers. The programming is all new to me though. The structure and electrical elements are explained very well. It gets better as I read on. Frankn
One of the best books on 3D printers and printing I have read. The book has a lot of detailed information and techniques explained in a very clear manner. The material is very thorough, so this could be the only book you would need to be successful in 3D printing.
